Purpose and Marriage, how well do they align?

The most important career decision you will ever make is WHO you marry- Sheryl Sandberg- How true is this?

The decision of who to marry is a make-or-break-your-happiness kind of deal. It goes a long way in determining how successful you will be in your career or area of calling. Marriage can be likened to a journey with deliberate thoughts of where you are going and how to get there- only the manufacturer has the answers about his products.  Imagine embarking on a journey with someone who has no thoughts about his destination, it is not any better than a life void of meaning. This is why I completely submit to the saying that as individuals, we should all get a clear sense of direction in life before bringing another person into the scene; if we don’t know where we are going, why then should anyone join us on the journey-to nowhere?

Submitting to a partner in marriage shouldn’t actually be a difficult task but the choice of who to submit to should be well thought through. This is particularly so for individuals who had it all put together but had to submit to partners who have no sense of direction in life, it would have been better to pray for them than trying to design their purposes, we are not God! We can lead them to God and He is always merciful to show everyone the way.

Marriage should help us better accomplish God’s purposes for our individual lives; for one shall chase a thousand, two shall chase ten thousand, but there is a way you will be joined with a partner and you will struggle to chase a hundred..

We can better help our partners when we understand our purposes!
